1.What is the level 2 hairdressing course
The level 2 hairdressing course is a recognised qualification designed to provide you with the essential skills, techniques and industry knowledge needed to begin your career as a professional hairdresser. It covers everything from shampooing & conditioning, consultation, styling, setting, cutting, colouring, reception, plaiting & twisting, developing and maintaining in the workplace, health & safety and client care.
3. Are there any entry requirements?
No formal qualifications are required. However, a passion for hairdressing, good communication skills and a willingness to learn are essential.
5. What will I learn during the course?
You will gain skills in:
- Health & safety
- Consultation
- Shampooing and conditioning hair

- Setting and dressing

7. Is the qualification recognised?
Yes. Our level 2 hairdressing course is recognised within the hairdressing industry, allowing you to work in salons, start your own business or progress to advanced training.
2. Who is the course suitable for?
This course is suitable for beginners, those with little or no prior knowledge or experience in hairdressing. Full attendance is required for those with no previous experience to ensure that all the criteria is met and the guided learning hours are covered. It is also suitable for individuals looking to formalise existing skills with a qualification.
4. How long does the course take to complete?
The course duration is 18 weeks with a full practical day once a week and a full theory day once a week. Home study is also expected and weekly practical and theory based tasks are set. If a student is absent consistently, this will result in the student having to attend the next course to complete. This will incur an additional cost to the student.
6. Will I need to buy my own equipment?
We supply a basic kit with all the essential tools and equipment required for this course. This is included in the cost of the course. You will be expected to provide 2 training heads to complete work at home if you are not working on live models.
8.What support will I receive?
From the moment you enrol, you will be supported every step of the way. Our experienced tutors provide one to one guidance, constructive feedback and personalised learning plans to help you progress at your own pace. You will have access to:
- Practical demonstrations of techniques with opportunities to practice under tutor supervision.
- Step- by-step guidance during training sessions to help you refine your skills.
- Learning resources such as video tutorials, work sheets and industry reference materials.
- Regular progress reviews to keep track of your development and keep you on target.
- Support outside of class hours so that you can ask ask questions or seek advice when you need it.
- Mentoring on career opportunities, including building a portfolio of your work to pass onto salons, preparing for interviews and assisting with finding salon placements.
